At-a-glance

Bob co-founded Boreal Renewable Energy Development to bring affordable, renewable energy to market quickly and efficiently. He has more than 20 years experience in renewable energy, power plant development and environmental engineering. His efforts range from project management, power plant siting and regulatory approval, to Clean Air Act, Water/Wetlands, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and Superfund waste clean-up and environmental due diligence. Bob has taken project sites from concept to approval to operation worldwide. He holds a U.S. patent for an energy conservation/recycling concept currently in commercial development.

Specialty:

Bringing a deep understanding of approvals processes and a bottom-line focus to manage costs, time and people, Bob is a former project manager for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and executive with private energy companies. He has work experience on three continents. He directed local, state and federal regulatory permitting and compliance for an innovative environmental recycling technology – taking it from patented concept through project siting, research and development to full-scale operation of multiple commercial facilities.

Knowing the questions regulators, communities and utility companies need answered before a project starts is a critical edge that delivers optimum results for Boreal’s wind, solar and hydroelectric ventures. Clients have ranged from federal agencies such as NASA, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and National Park Service to local school districts and corporations including Costco Corp. and Varian Semiconductor.
