Michael works on a range of technical, economic analysis and design-related positions helping clients assess their clean energy potential and recommending the right equipment for delivering results. A licensed contractor for 20 years working throughout New England – building houses, commercial buildings and energy installations. He researches options and brings structural and logistical solutions to large-scale, complex projects. Working on windy rooftops and installing meteorological towers in challenging locations is all in day’s work.
Like the ‘family doctor’ who is a general specialist, Mike has broad experience coordinating the engineers, contractors and suppliers – from material delivery to the winching and hoisting 40-meter-high meteorological towers in forested areas. From site selection to finished installation, he has worked on nearly two dozen tower projects and led the installation of five different turbines atop Boston’s Museum of Science.
Knowing what questions regulators, communities and utility companies need answered before a project starts is a critical edge that delivers optimum results for Boreal’s wind, solar and hydroelectric ventures. Clients have ranged from federal agencies such as NASA, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and National Park Service to local school districts and corporations including Costco Corp. and Varian Semiconductor.
An active member of the Freemasons, Mike is also an avid book collector.
